Notifications are released throughout the year, starting with IBPS RRB in June, followed by IBPS PO/Clerk and SBI PO/Clerk in the autumn and winter months.

Exam Pattern
Prelims: 100 questions, 100 marks, 60 minutes with sectional timers (20 minutes per section: English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning). Negative marking of 0.25 marks. Mains: Sectional objective test + Descriptive test (Essay & Letter writing).
Detailed Syllabus
Vedic Speed Math, advanced Data Interpretation, analytical Reasoning Puzzles, Syllogism, Input-Output, Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Banking & Financial Awareness.
Analysis & Strategy
Previous Year Trends
Puzzles and Data Interpretation carry the highest weightage in Mains. Speed simplification and approximations are critical in the Prelims stage to clear cut-offs.
Cut-Off Analysis
Varies by state for clerk posts and nationally for PO posts. Typically ranges from 55% to 70% in Prelims.
Preparation Strategy
Build high-speed calculation skills using Vedic Math. Solve at least 3 puzzles and 3 DI sets daily. Regularly attempt full-length mock tests to practice sectional time management.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a sectional cut-off in bank exams?
Yes, IBPS exams have both sectional and overall cut-offs. SBI exams do not have sectional cut-offs in Prelims or Mains, only overall cut-offs.
What is the penalty for wrong answers?
A penalty of 0.25 marks (1/4th of the marks assigned to the question) is deducted for each incorrect answer.
